What is our position on copyright?
Distributed AI Agents respects the intellectual property of others and responds to notices of alleged infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512.
What must a takedown notice include?
Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), a notice must be in writing and include:
- a physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner
- identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed, or a representative list if several works are covered
- identification of the material claimed to be infringing, with information reasonably sufficient to locate it, such as the page URL
- your contact information, such as name, address, telephone number and email address
- a statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law
- a statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner
Where do you send a notice?
Email editors@distributedaiagents.com with "DMCA notice" in the subject line, or use the contact page. Incomplete notices may not be acted on.
How does a counter-notice work?
If material you provided was removed and you believe this was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the same address including:
- your physical or electronic signature
- identification of the removed material and where it appeared before removal
- a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification
- your name, address and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if outside the United States, any judicial district in which the service provider may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice
If we receive a valid counter-notice, we may restore the material in 10 to 14 business days unless the original complainant notifies us that it has filed a court action.
What is the repeat-infringer policy?
Where appropriate, we will remove content from, and stop accepting submissions from, anyone found to be a repeat infringer.
